Fuel Good Day is back! When you fill up your tank on Sept. 19, 2023 at our Castlegar, Nelson or Slocan Park Co-op Gas Bars, the Co-op will donate 10 cents per litre of fuel purchased to Kootenay Animal Assistance Program Society (KAAP). All grades of gasoline and diesel fuel are eligible.  We will also be donating $1 off every coffee and Big Cool purchases on that day.  

All of the proceeds from Fuel Good Day are invested in your community – benefiting local schools, community centers, libraries, hospitals, food banks and more. The Slocan Valley Co-op is proud to sponsor KAAP for our 2023 Fuel Good Day.   KAAP was founded to meet the needs of homeless and disadvantaged pets who might otherwise fall between the cracks in existing services.  KAAP is a registered charity serving the West Kootenay in BC. They are 100% volunteer, and are no-kill. Help us save lives! Volunteer, donate, adopt, refer, and support KAAP.

In 2022, Co-op members and customers across Western Canada raised more than $650,000 for over 195 local organizations and causes – all in a single day!

Since its launch in 2017, more than $3 million dollars raised through Fuel Good Day have gone to over 700 local organizations, supporting the communities they serve.

In previous years, funds raised on Fuel Good Day have supported community organizations that provide comfort for children and their families during very difficult times, foundations that work to upgrade medical equipment to improve their patients’ lives and groups that make it easier for kids to play the sports they love.
